Gianluca Polgar obtained his Laurea degree in Natural Sciences (2004) and a Ph.D. in Ecological sciences (2009) from the University La Sapienza of Rome. He researched and taught at the University of Malaya of Kuala Lumpur from 2010 to 2012, and is presently a Lecturer at the University of Brunei Darussalam. His research interests include the evolution, ecology and conservation of tropical wetlands, with particular reference to tropical intertidal ecosystems. His true passion are amphibious gobies, or mudskippers (mudskippers: www.themudskipper.org).
